3. Platelets

7. Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC)

MCHC is a measure of the concentration of hemoglobin in each RBC. A low MCHC can indicate iron deficiency anemia.

What are the Normal Ranges for a CBC?

The normal ranges for a CBC can vary depending on the age, sex, and health status of the individual. The following are the general normal ranges for adults:

  1. RBC count: 4.5-5.5 million cells/mcL
  2. Hemoglobin: 13.5-17.5 g/dL for men, 12.0-15.5 g/dL for women
  3. Hematocrit: 38.8-50.0% for men, 34.9-44.5% for women
  4. WBC count: 4,500-11,000 cells/mcL
  5. Platelet count: 150,000-450,000/mcL

What Can Abnormal CBC Results Indicate?
